Sushiro is the conveyor-belt chain people queue longest for, and the belt is the smallest part of a visit now. You queue on a phone, order on a screen and pay on the same screen.
1Which Sushiro you're walking into
Three kinds of shop carry the name. A デジロー branch puts a large touch display where the belt used to be; an ordinary branch has the belt and a small panel at the seat; スシローTo Go is takeaway only, no seats and no queue, which is why those shops are out of seat booking. The store finder filters by service: デジロー for a screen, 自動土産ロッカー for a pickup locker, plus parking, floor, lift and nappy seat.
Refits are how it arrives: the Stellartown notice has the shop shut for the work, reopen with デジロー and revise its prices the same day. Two shops break it — 桜塚店 is the only eat-in branch cut from app booking, and 秋葉原中央通り店 is marked as not doing takeaway.
A plate comes on the belt or on a lane of its own; the belt itself, and why a plate on it belongs to nobody, is in the kaiten sushi guide.

2The queue in 2026
Sushiro runs two queues and both live in its app. 受付 is for now: register at a branch, take a place in the day’s line, and the app tells you when to head over. 予約 is for later: a slot up to a month ahead, fifteen minutes wide, so a 13:00 booking means the shop calls you between 13:00 and 13:15.
The app isn’t one route among several: the FAQ answers the booking question with the app alone, adds that there are no telephone bookings, and that a smartphone is the only device that works, not a PC or an old-style mobile. Booking stops overnight, roughly 02:00 to 06:00.
Checking in is what costs people their table: enter your booking number at the reception terminal, or the booking is cancelled automatically 30 minutes later.
The entry point is a chat app now: the 受付・予約 item in the navigation and the LINEで受付・予約 button on every branch page open a LINE mini app. On a campaign day a virtual waiting room can sit in front of the site.

3The screen does the ordering
The panel is the menu. The how-to sheet puts the visit in four lines: choose your language on the touchscreen, order on it, take the dish off your personal lane or out of a personal cup, and pay on it. The languages are Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English, and every item carries a photograph, so a screen left in Japanese is usable by pointing.
On a デジロー branch the panel is a small television and the belt has moved onto it, with four ways to order: the drifting lane, the category menu, a grid called すしナビ, and your own phone, which matters on the aisle side of a booth. Ordinary branches put the same four languages on a panel at the seat.
Delivery is the surprise: each table has a lane of its own — the chain calls it オートウェイター — so an ordered plate stops at your table instead of sailing past. At counter seats it runs on a short version of the screen, デジローミニ; at booths the partition is raised.
Wasabi comes separately: all the sushi arrives without it, wasabi travels round the lane for anyone who wants it, and soy sauce goes on the topping rather than into the rice.
Spending fills a gauge, which is why the chain is loud on a Saturday: at 100 per cent it opens one of the だっこずし games (a grand prix, a lottery, a slot) with original goods as the prize.

4What a plate costs
The English page gives a figure and a warning: from 120 yen a plate including tax, and prices may vary in some stores. That 120 is the cheapest floor in the country. At 秋葉原中央通り店 the line under the shop name reads 150 yen and up, the same at 秋葉原駅前店, and 170 and up at 道頓堀店: a 20 yen gap between a tourist street in Osaka and one in Tokyo.
Revisions land one branch at a time, each in a notice naming the shop, and takeaway sets are priced separately. Campaign prices are the widest gap: on 14 October 2026 the chain headlined a Mediterranean bluefin 中とろ at 110 yen and up, while the Dotonbori menu prints its 本鮪中とろ at 160 yen, 69 kcal, on the same 14 to 25 October dates and the same 5.67 million planned servings.
| On the Dotonbori menu | Price, tax included | kcal |
|---|---|---|
| Squid and rice-ball style sushi いか飯風すしとゲソにぎり | 310 yen | 110 |
| Scallop comparison 国産ほたて食べ比べ | 410 yen | 76 |
Price and calories don’t track: the two dearest plates are the two lightest, and the fried one is heavier than anything raw. Calories are printed per plate, one piece as one and two as two; salt and other nutrients aren’t published.

5Ten plates to start with
These ten are the first visit, priced at Dotonbori the day this was written. Other branches print their own prices, so read the numbers as a shape, not a promise; the calories are the chain’s own.
| Plate | Why it's on the list | Price | kcal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salmon サーモン | If this one is good, the shop is having a good day | 170 yen | 91 |
| Lean red tuna 厳選まぐろ赤身 | The flagship fish, and the plate every price rise gets judged on | 200 yen | 78 |
| Fresh shrimp 生えび | Raw, sweet and the lightest plate here | 190 yen | 68 |
| Sweet shrimp 甘えび | Smaller, stickier, more flavour per gram | 190 yen | 70 |
| Egg たまご | The safe plate for anyone who won't eat raw fish | 170 yen | 122 |
| Boiled conger eel 煮あなご | Cooked, sweet and soft, nothing raw about it | 190 yen | 88 |
| Flounder fin えんがわ | The texture plate: firm, slightly chewy | 230 yen | 91 |
| Sardine 天然いわし | The oily fish that tastes of the sea, not the fridge | 230 yen | 133 |
| Seared salmon, butter soy 炙りサーモンバター醤油 | Torched at the counter, warm over cold | 200 yen | 105 |
| Prawn tempura nigiri 上えび天にぎり | The fried one, and the biggest mouthful here | 250 yen | 178 |
Two habits make it work. Take the raw plates first and the fried, seared and simmered ones after — hot tempura numbs the next slice of salmon. Leave one slot for the week’s fair menu, the items the chain prints a serving number against.

6Taking it away
The takeaway site takes orders from 07:00 to 23:00; past 23:00 nothing can be confirmed. There’s no minimum: one plate is a valid order, and a pickup date can be set 30 days ahead. Payment settles before pickup: PayPay, Rakuten Pay, d-barai, auPAY, Merpay or a credit card, plus debit cards on immediate charge. Cash only on a telephone order.
You can’t change your mind in the middle: the pickup time can’t be moved, items can’t be changed, and the chain tells you to cancel and reorder. Cancelling means telephoning the shop, the day before at the latest — a same-day cancellation isn’t accepted and may be charged in full. Sets can’t be swapped; a sold-out item is replaced at the same price or refunded in cash.
Pickup can be a locker instead of a queue: the 自動土産ロッカー takes an order already placed, and the QR code opens the door. Not every branch has one — the store finder filters by it.
A worked example: the four-kind tuna and salmon set is 530 yen for one, 1,060 for two, 1,590 for three, 2,120 for four, tax included. Delivery is separate, スシローデリバリー, at shop prices plus a fee from 790 yen including tax, and not from every branch.

7Paying and leaving
The bill is settled at the seat: the how-to sheet’s one instruction for the end of the meal is to use the touchscreen to pay.
Credit cards work at every branch (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners, Discover) and so do debit cards. QR payment works at most branches but not all: the chain’s cashless notice has Stellartown taking no AEON Pay, J-Coin Pay, Bank Pay, Japan Post Pay or Smart Code, Kanayama Asunal missing nine of the codes, and Universal CityWalk Osaka on cards, PayPay and Alipay only. Cash is accepted.
Electronic money isn’t. The chain’s English site says so outright under cashless payment, so a Suica balance won’t settle the bill.
Points: one per 100 yen including tax since June 2026, rounded down, credited next day, only if the app’s membership code is read at the register. The old stamp cards ended on 31 May 2026. Groups: no private bookings or large-group events at any branch, and children’s chairs and nappy tables at every shop — hence the booths full of families at six.

8Questions and answers
The queue, the panel, the price and the bill.
Do I need the Sushiro app to get a table?
The queue runs on the app. 受付 puts you in today’s line, 予約 books a fifteen-minute slot up to a month ahead, and both need a registered account on a smartphone, not a PC or an older mobile. There is no telephone booking. 桜塚店 is excluded from app booking, and the スシローTo Go shops have no seats to book.
Can I pay with Suica or a credit card?
The card works at every branch: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners, Discover. QR payment works at most branches but not all, and the chain names the exceptions. Electronic money isn’t accepted — the chain’s own English page says so — so a Suica or PASMO balance won’t settle the bill.
What does a plate cost at Sushiro in 2026?
The English menu says from 120 yen a plate, tax included, and adds that items and prices differ in some stores. Each branch prints its own floor under its name: 150 yen and up at both Akihabara branches, 170 yen and up at Dotonbori.
Can I order takeaway without eating in?
Yes. The takeaway site takes orders from 07:00 to 23:00, one plate is enough, and pickup can be set 30 days ahead. Pay online by code payment, credit or debit card, or in cash on a telephone order. Branches with the locker let you scan a QR code and skip the register queue; some do no takeaway at all — 秋葉原中央通り店 is one.
Is there an English menu at Sushiro?
The touchscreen carries Japanese, English, simplified Chinese and Korean, and every item has a photograph, so the order can be placed by pointing. The chain also publishes English allergen lists, one of them separate for the Dotonbori branch because that menu differs.
What happens if I miss my check-in time?
The booking is cancelled. You check in at the reception terminal by entering your booking number, and a booking with no check-in is cancelled automatically after 30 minutes. The fifteen-minute slot is when the shop calls you, not how long you have to arrive.
