Terms of use
The short version: read it, quote it with a link, don't republish it whole, and check the operator's own page before you rely on a fare.
1What this site is
Japan Trip Zero is a personal information site about travelling in Japan, written and run by one individual. It is not a travel agency, tour operator, booking service or professional adviser, and it does not arrange anything on your behalf.
By reading or using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
2Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site changes. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the foot of the page shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
3The guides, and how they change
The site is a static set of pages, served free of charge. Guides may be rewritten, added, moved or taken down without notice, and no uptime or continuity is promised.
4Accuracy, and what you should check
Fares, schedules, deadlines and rules are taken from the operator or government body that sets them, and each guide says which year its figures are good for. Even so, prices change, services are suspended, and a rule can be amended between two trips. Guides here are written in good faith and kept up where possible, but they are not a guarantee of what will happen at the counter, and they are not a substitute for the operator's own page or for staff instructions on the day.
Nothing here is professional advice: not tax advice, not legal or immigration advice, and not financial advice. Explanations of tax-free shopping or visa-free entry describe the published rules; how they apply to you is a question for the relevant authority or a qualified adviser.
Where a page converts money, it uses a reference rate published by a central bank. That is the fair value of the currency, not a rate anyone is obliged to give you, and not an offer: what a bank, a counter or a card issuer quotes is their own number.
5Personal use, quoting and copying
- You may read, print and save the guides for your own travel planning.
- You may quote short extracts in discussions, forums, articles or videos, with a credit to Japan Trip Zero and a link back to the guide you took them from.
- The text belongs to Japan Trip Zero. Photographs are used under their own licences (usually public domain or Creative Commons), and the credit under each image gives the photographer and the terms — those terms apply to the photograph, not to this site.
- For anything more than a short extract, ask first.
6What you must not do
- Copy a guide in full, or translate and repost one, on another site, app or feed.
- Mirror the site, or scrape it in bulk for another site, a dataset, or an AI training set.
- Use the guides commercially, or charge for access to them.
- Present the site or its guides as your own, or use the name in a way that suggests an endorsement that does not exist.
- Interfere with the site, or try to reach anything you are not meant to reach.
7Affiliate links and advertising
Some outbound links are affiliate links: if you book, buy or subscribe through one, the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the site is paid for. The links are supplied by affiliate networks the site works with — Awin and Travelpayouts — and the price, availability and terms you see are the partner's own. Commission never decides what a guide says, which option is recommended or listed first, or whether a guide is written at all — where a plain, non-affiliate link is more useful, that is the link used. The privacy policy explains what those links mean for your data. The site also carries advertising sold by Google through AdSense: the ad space is chosen by Google rather than by this site, an advertisement is never put inside the text of a guide or made to look like part of one, and it earns whether or not you click it.
8Third-party sites
Links to airlines, railways, shops, booking sites and other publishers lead to sites that are not run by us and are not covered by these terms. Their prices, availability and conditions are theirs, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you are there.
9Liability
Reasonable care is taken with what is published here, but the site comes as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses — missed trains, unwanted purchases, extra nights, or anything else — arising from relying on a guide. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to the operator, including rights you have as a consumer.
10Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is resident, and any dispute falls to the courts of that jurisdiction.
11Questions
This site does not publish a contact address. A question about these terms is best read against this page as it stands.
